Hi-- My grandson did this today!
I have done paper piecing with both this grandson, who is now 11, and his younger brother, several times - starting about 4 or 5 years ago. I prepare all of the fabric pieces in advance, and label them. They also love doing free motion quilting (not on a quilt, but on a sample sandwich), or just doing random sewing on a fabric sandwich with the normal sewing foot. I have done other sewing projects with my other grandchildren - it’s amazing what they can achieve with a bit of guidance, and they love experimenting with their own ideas.
