BABY DRAGON
by Joanne Sattler
of Bartlett, Illinois
My name is Joanne Sattler, and I belong to the Prairie Star Quilt Guild in
St. Charles, IL. We recently had a "word" challenge to make a small quilt.
My word was "enchantment," for which I used your baby dragon block which I
made years ago when it was a mystery block, and which had been living in my
UFO bin.
Well, this quilt won the vote in its category, and now the guild is wanting
to publish a calendar with the winners of the challenge. |

NATIVITY
by Helga Diggelmann of Johns Creek, Georgia
[Here is a] photo of my nativity quilt. I added a border on the bottom so I would have some room to embroider a verse of scripture. I really like how the slightly darker bottom looks.
I have to say that pattern gave me some additional gray hairs! But is was a lot of fun putting it together and I love the end result. I chose a muted blue for the text so it would be noticeable, but not overpower the piecing.
[It says:] For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulders.
And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. --
Isaiah 9:6 NKJ |
