Mary Campbell Nativity
NATIVITY by Mary Campbell, Rhode Island
I bought this pattern in 2004. When I opened it I thought it waas too hard and scary to do. I put it back in the envelope. I would do this periodically until a couple months ago when I decided to do it. I did it and if I can do it anybody can as I am almost 82 years old. :)

GLORY OF GOD

...I wrote to you at the end of 2005, beginning of 2006 a couple of times about a huge 4metre square quilt we were planning for our church. Although I never actually sent you the design for comment at the time (it turned out too big) the advice you gave me was invaluable as we pieced the whole thing using your methods. I have included information that we published in a booklet about the quilt, though I am sorry that the picture is not as clear as I would like, and doesn't show the piecing very well. However, it will give you an idea of this undertaking and how successful it was in the end. It hangs in our church in certain seasons of the year, and has had a huge impact on the wider community and quilting circles in New Zealand, as I was told it could not be done, 'specially working with a team of non-quilters with very little sewing experience. I have since made a 1m square copy of it for the Priest who designed it, which was a lot more fiddly actually with some very tiny pieces, but which looks just as amazing as the huge one. Thanks much for your help and advice at the time.
