Hawaiian Shirts by Eastern Long Island Quilters' Guild, Inc.

Reader Lisa Inouye wrote to me asking where she might find a Hawaiian shirt pattern. This sounded rather quick and easy, so I volunteered. She suggested the folding for the collar...I thought this was a GREAT idea, which then led to the pocket!
Although I call this a "Hawaiian" shirt, you'll want to consider the availability of printed fabric in the right scale for an 8x8 block. Also, the busier the print, the harder it will be to see the pocket and the collar. You can always treat this pattern as a simple MAN'S SHIRT and use more subtle fabrics instead.
You'll need approximately 9"x11" of fabric for the background.
