         Paper Snow
         Setting Suggestion________

snowtop

The pattern includes templates for the connecting pieces
that you can use to make a top similar to this one. The border
templates are not included, but feel free to use this idea.

Reader Terry M. DeVine suggests:

Just as a note on Paper Snow patterns... look into Sara Nephews titles, [particularly] "Sensational 6-Pointed Star Quilts." She does some wonderful things with 60 degree triangles and hexagons...I already have some settings to play with. There will also be some other potential applications in Bethany Reynolds soon to be available Stack N Whackier book...a diamond pattern (looks like an argyle sock pattern with stack n whack centers to largest diamonds...snowflakes would work as well). The challenge will be in sizings.

Another thought that started my recent venture into 60 degree triangles is the Florida Quilt design from Debbie Caffrey's new book "Noodle Soup". I'm not sure if that would give anyone ideas but that was what started my interest. You might also mention the Clear View Triangle ruler which could be helpful for connector pieces between hexagons... not necessary, templates and 60 degree markings on a rotary ruler work too.

One more thing...your paper snow is a completely different take off on the 60 degree triangle pattern piece. Sara Nephew uses mostly diamonds, trapezoids, and more 60 degree triangles within her 60 degree triangles and hexagons. You've produced more curvy like patterns vs her very geometric designs
