Mailbird by Shirley Dickson
Birdies... Sidney Dickson of Chico, CA sent me her mailbird after writing: "It seems appropriate that we crazy quilters who trade fabric squares should have a mailbox square. I have enlarged the block and will probably add some additional sky and maybe grass or flowers at the bottom."
She sent me this photo and added,"The embellishment on the one envelope is due to the fact it didn't show up against the light colors of the other envelope and the box. So far I've made the flower cart and the mailbox to send and both recipients are delighted with them."

Beach babies...Mary Ann Kowalski writes: "I worked up a beach patchwork top with the boy and girl angels minus the wings. The quilt top came out looking like two children playing in the sand on the beach."

Kathi CheerleaderFootball Mom booster sweatshirt...Sandy Schuster writes: "I just finished the cheerleader pattern the other day--made it using the colors of my daughter's cheerleading uniform from school. Made small tassels to look like the ones she uses and tacked them on the block. The whole block is framed with a narrow border, backed with fusi-knit interfacing, and sewn on a sweatshirt."
