BE A DONOR! Let go of those haunting projects
you'll never finish. Send your poor, no-longer-loved UFO projects to
me, and I'll post the projects and then pass them back out to new, excited
owners.
Adopters pay a small "adoption fee" for each UFO
which covers all the necessary postage costs for you (to mail it to me) and me
(to send it back out again). You will receive reimbursement
for your postage and possibly a small sum on top of that. Some adoption
candidates will be offered for a simple adoption fee, and some may be silently
auctioned (your choice). I have set up a separate secure shopping cart so Adopters
may pay with Paypal or credit card.
In most cases, suggest that initial
prices be set to equal total mailing costs, starting with zero profit for the
donor. The donor sees a gain if / when bids go up.

EMAIL
ME:
ALL TYPES OF QUILTING PROJECTS
accepted. Before you send it this way, email me and tell me
about it. Smaller projects are more desirable as they will require less postage
coming and going. We will discuss the kind of adoption (simple or silent auction),
and decide on a simple adoption/auction starting price. The
idea is to recoup all postage costs at minimum. There could be a few dollars more,
but this is not really a for-profit venture.A project must be adopted in order
for you to receive reimbursement.

THE UFO TO ME:
GATHER UP
the blocks (finished, unfinished), pieces, fabrics, templates,
materials, everything you have that goes with your project. If a pattern is
involved, you must donate the whole, original pattern with the project. Do
not send photocopied replacements. (That's baaaaaaad!)
TELL
THE STORY. With
this form, share a little something about your original
idea, hopes and dreams for this project. Include your name and state of origin
(use your first name and last initial if preferred).
PACK
IT UP. Organize your project and include some clues
on getting started on it again. Don't forget the form.
Wrap the project in some sort of plastic (grocery bag, ziploc, etc.), but please
do not tape too tightly shut--I need to be able to take it apart and photograph
it. I will restore it for mailing to a new home.
PACKAGE
AND MAIL. Small projects that fit in a manilla envelope
and weigh no more than 13 oz. will cost less than $3.27 to mail. The next
size would be a flat rate priority envelope, which currently costs $4.05 to mail
and can be packed and taped tightly up to 2 lbs. A much larger flat rate priority
box is currently $8.10. The idea is to try to pack the project
using the lightest mailing materials and pay as little postage as you can.
Finally, send me an email and tell me to expect your package.
If your project
is heavy, we can keep costs down by bypassing me altogether and having you make
the mailing to the winner.

AT
ADOPTION CONCLUSION:
YOUR REIMBURSEMENT
will be mailed to you if your project is adopted and
after payment for it is made. Do what you can to make your project desirable!
